Um britânico que chegou a ser
chamado de ‘homem mais gordo do mundo’ removeu mais de 25 kg só de pele
após ter emagrecido quase 300 kg.
Aos 54 anos, Paul Mason, de Ipswich, está em Nova York se recuperando
de uma operação que durou nove horas para remover o excesso de pele
após o emagrecimento. Ele pesava 440 kg e está, hoje, com 155 kg.

“Eu só consigo pensar que esses quilos de pele já foram tarde!”, disse o britânico em entrevista à BBC Radio Suffolk.
“A operação foi para remover o que sobrou de pele por causa da perda de peso. Com certeza, melhorou muito as coisas pra mim.”
Segundo Mason, o excesso de pele estava dificultando sua movimentação. “Agora consigo me locomover muito mais fácil”, afirmou.

“Levantar a perna agora é como levantar um pedaço de papel ultrafino
em vez de um caminhão de árvores. Minha vida definitivamente melhorou.”
Mason ainda precisará de mais uma cirurgia para remover excesso de pele em outras partes do corpo, incluindo seus braços.
O homem, que gastava diariamente cerca de 75 libras (R$ 353) em
encomendas de comida e chocolates entregues em sua casa, conseguiu fazer
a operação graças à uma cirurgiã plástica americana, Jennifer Capla,
que se ofereceu para fazer a operação de graça.
